Windows

Windows have come such along way since the old single pane, float glass set into an aluminium frame. These days, double glazing is becoming the norm, but is still difficult to find thermally efficient, double glazed windows that are manufactured in Australia.

After considerable research we decided on a company in northern Victoria and we chose uPVC, double glazed, tilt and turn frames. Double glazing for the obvious benefits of reducing heat loss and gain through the glass and uPVC for the same reason, to reduce heat and cold transference via the frames and tilt and turn for the air tightness when closed. With the addition of some pretty specialised flashings the windows are installed and ready for our long hot summers.
